What did I forget?   A Quick Checklist
 

For those who get distracted with the Kitchen crisis of the day or a conversation with others, here is a quick checklist of pre- and post-meal tasks. If you are uncertain what a task involves, check for details in the “ Set Up, Serving, and Close Up Procedures” document in the Community Kitchen notebook or on the website at www.ucpnh.org. Set Up

  • Check refrigerator temperature.
  • Prepare or warm up food.
  • Lights
  • Heat tea water
  • Make coffee
  • Set two double tables
  • Set up counter: condiments, individual creamers, beverages, plastic cups, salad dressing, sugar/substitute
  • Dishes
  • Trash barrel and rolling cart

Clean Up

  • Wash dishes, etc.
  • Clear and wipe tables
  • Clear and wipe counters
  • Clean dishwashing area
  • Empty trash barrels

Close Up

Turn Off:

  • coffeemaker
  • hot plate (unplug)
  • exhaust fans
  • stovetop and oven
  • small appliances (warmers, roaster) (unplug)
  • dishwasher
  • lights

Close:

  • Kitchen and hall doors (fire regulations)
  • Kitchen window

Lock up:

  • freezer
  • outside door
