Year 2008    
July 17   The first Thursday evening prayer meeting was held in the sanctuary at 6:30 PM. The next prayer meeting is scheduled for July 31.
July 13   The committee presented a new design concept to the congregation and discussed other recent committee activities.
July 10   Rick Monahon of Richard Monahon-AIA Architects presented three design concepts and discussed the next steps in the process.
May 6   Rick Monahon of Richard Monahon-AIA Architects toured the building and met with the committee to share his findings and suggestions for plan revisions.
March 24-29  

Focus groups were scheduled to discuss proposed capital improvement projects. Contact the committee. A 16-page summary of group results is available from the committee.

March   Bulletin 2 and Bulletin 3 describing UCPs public value were distributed during two Sunday services. This information plus related data is available.
Feb 1   Bulletin 1: Sacred Places Training released with the February Spire.
Year 2007    
Oct 25-26   Team of three campaign members attended two more sessions of Partners for Sacred Places training. Return with even more 'homework' due when a follow-up session is held in the spring.
Oct 9   UCP makes front page of Concord Monitor
Sept 23   Preliminary results of the public value calculations for Sacred Places is released.
Sept 10   Pictures of water problems in the basement added to the project pages.
September   Grant proposal submitted to Hyde/Watson Foundation requesting the amount of $25,000 to assist in the foundation/flooding repair.
August   Final payment for steeple repair was made.
August   The committee continues to research history, public value, and building assessment for the Sacred Places Toolkit. Initial assessments will be provided to the congregation before this material is taken to the October Sacred Places training.
August 4   A town meeting/potluck dinner was held.
July 15   An anonymous donor contributed $5000 to the Capital Fund Drive.
July 12   Maggie Stier from New Hampshire Preservation Alliance attended our committee meeting and provided background for the five New Hampshire churches taking part in the Partners for Sacred Places training. Fourteen NH churches had applied; those accepted include churches in Acworth, Newport, Lisbon, East Derry, and Penacook plus the training host church in Manchester.
June 28   Three subcommittees have been formed to complete building assessment, calculating public value, and exploring our heritage assignments for the Partners for Sacred Places training.
June 30   A grant application was completed for the Franklin Savings Bank Fund for Community Advancement. This application requested assistance with the $96,000 cost for the renovation of the foundation, rear exterior wall, and related kitchen concerns.
June 30   Ruth Nichols and Alice Colby have formed a prayer group in support of the capital improvement efforts. If you wish to join them on Monday mornings, contact Alice or Ruth for more information.
June 18   Maggie Stier from New Hampshire Preservation Alliance took a tour of the church. She will act as our coach, meeting with the committee and the congregation, helping troubleshoot problems, and nudging us along through the tasks for the Sacred Places program.
June 9   Three campaign members attended Concord 20/20 presentation held at UCP.
May 17-18   Team of three campaign members attended first two sessions of Partners for Sacred Places training. Return with plenty of 'homework' due when last two sessions are held in October.
March 22 Meeting in Manchester about Partners for Sacred Places. Application process for training in May and October has been started.
February 11 Congregation approved Capital Improvement Campaign.
January 14   Architect presented church review to congregation.
    Capital Improvement Campaign committee was formed.
